I do rather like Bristol Temple Meads station. This is good news, as CrossCountry Trains make me wait here for longer than I want to on an almost daily basis.

Well this is splendid. It's 'Half Day' at my beloved CrossCountry Trains. We have half a train running half-an-hour late. I do like a special themed day.

OK. I was being optimistic when I said my CrossCountry Trains train is running 30 mins late. It's decided to stop for a beer and a fag at Bristol TM. We're currently going precisely nowhere.

Both my Twitter and Facebook timelines currently are awash with posters who seem to be desperate to be congratulated for not liking/caring about Oasis. Is there some sort of medal we can award them?

This morning's CrossCountry Trains train is late due to 'train crew being delayed'. We'll take it as read that they took a CrossCountry train to get to work...

Two women on my train, who evidently don't travel on CrossCountry Trains very often, are complaining about the lack of catering, as if that were some sort if significant problem. Am tempted to tell them that having a seat/train that runs on time is a rare luxury.

So, watch England playing tediumball to the banal soundtrack of Matterface and Dixon, or listen to Britten at his most teeth-clenchingly irritating at the Proms? Not a great choice...

Sad to see another Proms season over. Though my job often means I often know in advance, I still love the occasions when we stick Radio 3 on at 7.30 to discover what's on. I thought this season was an absolute cracker.
