BIRTHDAY SALUTE: Jon “Bowzer” Bauman I saw Sha Na Na perform live in concert in the early 70s, when nostalgia was huge so the 50s songs of (only) 15 years earlier were rockin. Now over 50 years later I follow him on X, enjoying his posts. Hope you had a great birthday, Jon.

NEW ART PROJECT This is a fun one I am doing a poster of Pop Culture Icons. I crudely roughed out the figures for placement and inked in a few to see how they'd balance. When I finish I plan to frame it and sell it in the gallery with my other art. I'll post when it's completed.

BIRTHDAY SALUTE - Anne Bancroft Anne was born September 17, 1931 (she died in 2005). A fine actress in many films including The Miracle Worker, The Slender Thread, The Graduate, Prisoner of 2nd Ave, Fatso (also directed), Torch Song Trilogy, Broadway Bound, so many others.

I was a 60s kid who never missed an episode of The Time Tunnel. None of us did. We used to wait for it. He later was a regular on TJ Hooker. Omitting Jimmy Darren from the Emmy memoriam segment is ridiculous.

BIRTHDAY SALUTE - James Gandolfini He was Tony Soprano on the greatest TV drama ever produced. He once held out for a huge pay increase and when he finally got it, he divided it equally among the main cast members. Jim died n 2013 at the age of only 51 but his legacy lives on.

All the technology kids have nowadays, and when I was a kid in the long ago 60s we were satisfied with this:

BIRTHDAY SALUTE: Eddie Anderson You Can't Take it With You, You Can't Cheat an Honest Man, Cabin in the Sky, etc but best known as Rochester on Jack Benny's radio & TV show. I still recall coverage of Benny's funeral on TV and how it broke my heart to see Rochester sobbing.

BIRTHDAY SALUTE - Frankie Avalon I remember the songs DeDe Dinah, Venus, etc, from early childhood. I saw the Beach movies first run. So I have been a fan for a long time. Frankie is still with us at the age of 84 and is still performing.

BIRTHDAY SALUTE - Greta Garbo I first saw her when I attended a theatrical revival of Grand Hotel around 1969. That remains one of my favorites among her films, along with Queen Christina, Anna Christie, Ninotchka, and Flesh and the Devil. I've considered doing a book on her work
