Congrats to former Dolphin Ethan Lege on being selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 15th round of this year’s Major League Draft. Lege was a standout member of the 2021 and 2022 Delgado teams and was drafted out of Delgado before continuing his successful career at Ole Miss.

Ed Daniels was in the business of reporting news, but did it in a way that not many could. Whether you were the Saints, Delgado baseball, or prep, you got his all. He was a true friend and a true professional. He will be missed. Godspeed, my friend!

Today, we lost a friend with the passing of longtime sports reporter Ed Daniels. Tonight, Kirsch-Rooney’s lights are on at sunset to honor Ed for always shining his light on local players, coaches, and fans.

A day that many will never forget! It makes me so proud to see how we fought back as a community and picked ourselves up! We have strong citizens in this community that never gave up!

Tonight, the lights shine on “Rags” Scheuermann Field at Kirsch-RooneyStadium, as well as the new Benson Athletic Complex as we mark the anniversary of Katrina. To everyone who has been part of the renaissance, thank you. The tradition continues, stronger and brighter than ever before!

Feeling reflective tonight. Everyone has their Katrina story, but what a 19-year journey it has been for the Delgado Dolphins. Then vs. now and every step in between… “rest if you must but don’t you quit.”

So sorry to hear that Coach Graham has passed away. He truly was one of the best to ever coach college baseball. Glad to be able to say I can call him a mentor and a friend. Rest In Peace Coach, you were truly a Champion!

Tonight, 76 local high schools unite in honoring the life and legacy of our friend Ed Daniels with a memorial helmet decal presented by Delgado and Crescent City Sports. Ed was a voice for our community and we’re proud to salute his impact on generations of student-athletes. 💜
