TeslaGoesPlaid | Mike 🔋🚀 With how easy it is to do the color correction, I'm hoping to release a simple script at some point that can ingest MakeMKV files created from the DVDs and pop out a modern pixel doubled 10-bit x265 file properly converted to bt709. It would be missing some thing like finer

Leon Kiriliuk It would be better described as compressed vs tossed out. To help avoid precision errors (banding), I first convert the range to 16 bit, then essentially every value gets multiplied by 1.0212766 (240/235). Here's an example of what the conversion looks as displayed in the levels

Could I get some feedback on using the lut filter in ffmpeg as a quick way to rescale the U and V channels from 16-235 to ~16-240? -vf "lut=u=val*(240/235):v=val*(240/235)" Using the lut filter isn't exactly the same as what I'm doing in AviSynth with the Levels() filter, but

Season 1 Voyager strikes again... In "Prime Factors," there seems to be some inconstancy in the levels between different scenes. Good portion of the episode comes out looking great, but some scenes come out looking like they were filmed with a camcorder pointed at a projector.

While 99% of the Star Trek: The Next Generation remaster looks fantastic, some parts really don't hold up well today. Notably, for several scenes where the film reels were unable to be located, the CBS Digital team had to go back to (presumably) the broadcast masters to capture

TNG - S01E24 - We'll Always Have Paris Only a few seconds in this episode are missing, a quick scene in which Riker turns from looking at Data to looking at Picard. In order: LaserDisc Source -> LaserDisc Upscale -> Laserdisc Upscale with 1920x1080 resize and color correction
