Today I’m hearing all of the good old boys and girls saying if you don’t like Jason Aldean you don’t have to listen to him. Gotcha. And if you don’t like certain library books you don’t have to ban them ‘cause you ain’t going to read them.

So....y'all want K12 teachers in the US to: Out trans students Only use certain books in schools Lie about the history and current sociopolitical issues Carry guns Parent your kids Do I have that right?

A. What can FL teachers do? What resources can we point them toward? B. What publishers are being tapped to produce materials that align with these standards? Can they be convinced to back out? C. How can educators in other states protect themselves and support FL teachers? (4/4)

This is a great way to integrate PBS content into any LMS.

There is so much truth to this thinking. Phonics has its place in literacy instruction, but it shouldn’t be of primary importance. There is so much more students need to know in order to read.

School starts in Florida next week, and districts have notified nearly 30,000 seniors that they need to change their schedules because Ron DeSantis banned AP Psychology. Many seniors are already adults. They all have a right to the same education offered in every other state.

And this is the part of the restorative justice piece that is not right. Restorative justice does NOT mean blame the teacher and it does NOT mean an assault goes without consequences. This is where (and WHY) restorative justice fails in school settings.
