I’ve had people on social media to professors tell me “you talk about Sikhs too much” The hell? When a Stanford study found 70% of Americans can’t identify a picture of a Sikh as a Sikh & you’re sayin I talk too much about Sikhs? I’m just gonna do it more.

Tonight is not about the Prime Minister. It's about every young person mocked for the colour of their skin. The child who had their turban ripped off their head. And those reliving intense feelings of pain & hurt from past experiences of racism. To you, I say you are loved.

I think it’s critical to keep bringing up past accomplishments & current success of Sikhs. it can show the young Sikh boy or girl, that they do not need to run from who they are, to be successful. We have to keep reminding each other, that our Sikhi is an asset not a liability
