We're seeking feedback on our white paper on #PeerReplication. Arthur Charles-Orszag Kristen Skruber Dyche Mullins et al. Anders Rehfeld and I propose an alternative or augmentation to peer review, where key experiments are reproduced, adding robustness to published findings. doi.org/10.5281/zenodo…
Happy #MicroscopyMonday! Last week I ran a workshop for high school students UMass Dartmouth, where we looked at pondwater on microscopes. Everyone then made a "Pondemon" card for an organism they identified, using pictures they took! Here's a small sample- printable set coming soon...
One week to go! Submit abstracts by August 6th to give a talk at the Emergent Functions in Syncytia session at #ASCB24. Madeline Keenen and I will be reviewing abstracts on all things multinucleate.
🚨Does your research combine evolution and cell biology? If so, submit an abstract to our subgroup session “Evolutionary Cell Biology” at this year’s ASCB meeting #cellbio2024! Deadline is in 1 week. Co-organizers are Holly V. Goodson Michelle Momany MichaelMcMurraylab OnishiLab_Duke

Scientific colour maps: yes!—But when and what not to do with them? 👉doi.org/10.1002/cpz1.1… including resources for researchers, science communicators, software developers, publishing editors, and University faculty! Dr Grace Shephard Philip Heron #DataVisualisation #UseBatlow
Happy #microscopymonday! This image was taken by UMassD College of Arts and Sciences undergrad Samantha Jacques! Sam has been culturing Naegleria gruberi amoebae this summer, and in this experiment she stained cells for actin polymer (blue) and DNA (pink).
