Today we are mourning the loss of one of our own. An Alberta Wildfire crew member was fatally injured yesterday while responding to the wildfire in Jasper. This morning we stood heartbroken with our partners as a procession passed by.

My sincere condolences to you all and his family as we mourn this tragic loss. We thank him for his bravery sacrifice. May he rest in peace!

Nigeria’s D’Tigress deserves our praise. From the lowest ranked in the world, they have beaten the 3rd and 5th ranked to book a quarter final spot. While I will be rooting for them, whatever happens at the quarter finals, they have made their mark! So proud of them!
