Over the next weeks we'll introduce characters from our #HiddenHistories exhibition, starting with one you may know. Charles Brown (lived here 1816-22), best known as friend of Keats, had an affair with his maid at the house and took the resulting child to Italy (and later NZ).

Nearly the end of a joyously busy week, with lots of school sessions and uni group visits being inspired by Keats House Museum and garden. If you wannabe a #poet like #Keats, here’s two great opportunities from our friends The Poetry Society, one of which is particularly for #Camden youth.

‘He is with the Poets!’ It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Clive Jones, who through his tours and poetry readings was for many people their first and lasting impression of Keats House. He will always be remembered for his generosity and passion for Keats.

‘Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.’ For Clive from ‘Do not go gentle into that good night’ by Dylan Thomas.

Not only has Keats House Museum had human inhabitants, but plenty of animals have lived here too, including Fanny Brawne's pouter pigeons (like the one pictured!). They didn't always do too well: 'the cats have taken Primrose'. Visit the #HiddenHistories exhibition to find out more!
