If you watched #QandA last night you would have heard an incredible refugee woman named Rathi ask why Albanese Gov has left 8,500 people seeking asylum in limbo in Australia for 12 years. The answer she got was disingenuous. There is a magic wand to fix, it’s called leadership.

Today is day 30 of the peaceful protest in Punchbowl demanding a pathway to permanency for 8,500 people failed by fast track. After 12 years, enough is enough. Last night, in solidarity I visited those protesting. ASRC will keep advocating and raising their voices.

The horrifying murder of Ugandan Olympic marathon runner Rebecca Cheptegei is not an outlier when it comes to men’s violence against women. The smarter, more accomplished & independent a woman is the more some men are threatened & seek to assert control through violence. Pathetic

It was such an honour and pleasure to speak today at the Future Forte Australia Conference. These events are so essential in creating spaces for young people of colour to share their expertise, aspirations and where their potential is platformed, valued and celebrated.

I have always believed in the kindness and generosity of people and of our shared collective humanity. Today I saw the best of it as people from across Melbourne came to help me make a Sunday lunch for 250 people to raise funds to help #Palestinian #refugees ❤️

This is what we mean by longer tables with a seat at the table for us all. Today 250 people shared more than just a meal. It was a day to not just raise money to help the vital work of PARA it was to show Palestinian refugees in Australia that you are seen and welcomed ❤️

Friends I am so happy to share that our Sunday lunch fundraiser for Palestinian refugee families raised $27,390! All going to the amazing Palestine Australia Relief & Action. A reminder once more that the greatest antidote to hate is good old fashioned love and community ❤️
