Years ago people working in AI policy (including me) perhaps foolishly wanted to 'wake up' DC. Well, we got what we wanted! Now I think a lot of the challenge of AI policy relates to trying to stabilize this leviathan that has been woken.

It’s not uncommon for people to lobby electeds in a party different from their own. & to be friendly with staff. & for a politically active person to decide to run for office. I just don’t see what’s so weird here?
