There are many reasons why "family-sized" units aren't being built, but one contributing factor is that our zoning codes punish larger units. In many (most?) cities, parking requirements escalate with each bedroom—even though your kids probably don't need a space!

If only NHSTA was interested in the thousands of deaths a year caused by unsafe road design and ever larger, heavier, more powerful vehicles. Pedestrian deaths have been skyrocketing for 15 years and NHTSA has done *nothing* to stop them.

The places where we should be building housing (infill) will almost always be proximate to neighbors who don't want new housing nearby. Bozeman's new City Commission is big on placating the neighbors—consistently rejecting the housing projects our community needs.
