Just arrived in Las Vegas for #APSMarch. I saw a giant nuclear pore outside my room window. Interested in biomolecule condensates in the pore? Come by and join my talk Q25:1 on Wed 3.00-3.36PM Room217/218. Let's party and chat!🤗👋🥂

Much is known about the structure of the nuclear pore complex (NPC) scaffold. But our image of the ~50-MDa FG-NUPs at the centre of the NPC has remained a ~60-nm hole – until now. See the article below @nature. go.nature.com/3As3D9L

Excited to see our paper now online in nature where we filled the hole of the nuclear pore complex! Congratulations to all the co-authors! 🍾🍾🍾Great collaboration with ⁦⁦Hummer Lab and⁩ ⁦Beck Laboratory⁩ nature.com/articles/s4158…

Scientists at IMB, Universität Mainz & Max Planck Institute of Biophysics showed how #IDPs in the centre of the #NuclearPore form a spaghetti-like mobile barrier that allows important cellular factors to pass but blocks viruses & molecules that can cause disease. #condensate #biophysics 📰imb.de/about-imb/news…

Emmm...I have a question: We used light to study dark proteins. That makes us The Dark Side or The Light Side???!😅 #StarWars

Really nice paper from the lab of Patrick Onck using novel simulations to uncover the coupling of phase separation & percolation in the context of the nuclear pore complex. Timely in light of beautiful work of Miao Yu pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…. Use of GCT is cool! Xiangze Zeng

I had a lovely visit to Abberior in Heidelberg and tried my favourite protein Nup98 with Minflux! The resolution is mind-blowing!🤯🤩 I asked Clara how often they meet with Stefan Hell here. She said roughly once per month. AND then Stefan just came in! I was super excited!😇

Embracing the Year of Dragon's spirit, we've adorned our lab door with Spring Festival Couplets: 神龙舞光影无序,显微成像探玄奇. Translated, the divine dragon dances, casting 'disordered' shadows of light; meanwhile, microscopic imaging unveils the profound mysteries within 🐉🎊
