I'm getting a lot of pointers about Nevada considering film tax credits. They are a boondoggle. Only two types of people support them.

One hungry kid is one too many. AB 139 would have ensured we didn’t have to look even one child in the eye and tell them we wouldn’t feed them. Kids can’t learn if they are hungry. And hungry kids can’t eat a letter.

"Film tax credits, like stadium subsidies, are popular ideas with politicians of all stripes that are deplored by economists of all stripes. They don’t help economic growth, and they usually end up costing states money for no reason." #moleg

I once lived on this block and was President of Del Ray Citizens. Judy Lowe was a friend and a Democratic activist. It is weird Vance moved to the heart of this socially progressive neighborhood next door to a park named for Judy. She would support everything he opposes.

This election is not about policy. It is a referendum on what kind of political system we will have in America: democracy or autocracy? That is why so many prominent Republicans, who know the stakes, are supporting the Democratic ticket in 2024. My latest video:

What I find most interesting about this presentation is that Dave Kaval gave it, not Sandy Dean. Perhaps he's back to make one final push for investors. The continued lack of urgency (groundbreaking sometime in 2nd quarter of 2025?) for a team with no place to play is telling.

This is exactly the kind of authoritarian regulatory retaliation we've been warning Trump will pursue in a second term. He's making it very plain. He sees federal programs and resources as tools to maximize his political agenda. yahoo.com/news/trump-say…

Remarkable confession by JD Vance this morning when he said he will “create stories” (that is, lie) to redirect the media. All this to change the subject away from abortion rights, manufacturing jobs, taxation of the rich, and the other things clearly at stake in this election.

See why Thiel invested in him and why Trump chose him? JD Vance has no morals, no principles, and is taking from the authoritarian playbook is being open about lying to incite violence if it helps him get to power.

[NEWS] The easiest way to take home a new car? Leasing — which had nearly dried up during pandemic production shortages — is back in a big way. As of Q2, leasing penetration is up to 25.35%, a sharp increase from last year. Thanks, in part, to a much-needed boost from EVs.
