What sort of person on £90,000 a year plus, and over £3,000 heating allowance votes to take away a few hundred quid heating allowance from pensioners? 🤨

Today the overwhelming majority of 650 men and women who can each claim £3400 towards their heating costs will vote against pensioners being able to claim £300 towards their heating costs

Please share this tweet widely. Applications for Pension Credit are soaring already but there are an estimated 800,000 people who are entitled to Pension Credit but fail to claim.

I’m sorry but these are not “tough decisions” for politicians. They are tough decisions for those forced to choose between heating their homes and eating.

It's 1646 at C3 and we are up to 46 voters at this polling station in the Romsey by election since 7am this morning. I will do another count before I leave at 6pm and hand over to the evening shift. Am told that the other polling stations have been busier but not busy.

So final voter count for Romsey by election when I left the C3 church polling station just before 6pm was 64. I might have missed a few but looks like a very low turnout.

Have just been buying something for an older family member. With some people I know what to get. This lady is not one of those people. Hope she likes it and it arrives on time. Or if she doesn't like it, she gets it changed and doesn't feel obliged to pretend.

The cheek of Norwich Labour proposing a motion to Norwich City Council on child poverty with absolutely zero mention of the fact that their party is responsible for keeping the two-child benefit cap which is keeping thousands of kids in poverty. Both their MP’s voted for it.
