Couldn't teachers require submitting papers with an accessible "version history"? That way they could see the process the student went through to write their paper. Kind of like a math proof. Google Docs has a version history tool. Not sure about MS Word.

The press has a right to report on leaked documents. The Supreme Court has been pretty clear on this: Pentagon Papers, Bartnicki v. Vopper, etc. Of course, computer hacking is a crime, and those who unlawfully hack or leak documents can be prosecuted. But so long as reporters

Good. There is no First Amendment exception for "hate speech" and "misinformation." Requiring private companies to report how they respond to constitutionally protected speech is viewpoint discrimination — it chills, burdens, and compels speech.

🔴 “7 out of 10 students are uncomfortable publicly disagreeing with a professor about a controversial political topic” Even students at schools that rank high on this list have told me they’re afraid to speak out in class because of being cancelled and socially ostracized.

Good discussion of Section 230 in Advisory Opinions. One bone to pick w/ David French's analysis: 230 doesn't give ISPs a liability shield for simply "hosting" 3rd party content. "Provided" is the operative word in (c)(1). Suggests broader protection to me. Sarah Isgur

Proud that The University of Tulsa has been recognized (for the first time) as a top 25 university in the nation for free speech by FIRE . In this fraught time, we have decided that it is inappropriate to issue political statements and that we support speech from all sides (liberal,
