Excellent debate on need for RTC of🫀transplant v LVAD Cardiovascular Research Foundation #THT2024 with Nir Uriel, MD MSc‼️ #VAD outcomes now excellent, but (spoiler alert) field was not ready for RCT. Ultimately, shouldn't be a competition, still so much unmet need for both therapies!

Findings from Columbia Medicine's CHAMP-IMPELLA study elucidate the effects of Impella-CP unloading on RV function: improved RV-PA coupling due to decreased afterload while RV systolic function remained unchanged w/ increased P-level (i.e. P2 to P8). bit.ly/49nh8Xg #JACCBTS
