In Kuala Lumpur, FM Radosław Sikorski 🇵🇱🇪🇺 and the 🇵🇱 delegation met with the Prime Minister of Malaysia 🇲🇾Anwar Ibrahim. The talks were held in a very friendly atmosphere and covered 🇵🇱🇲🇾 bilateral relations, and international security, including in Ukraine and the Middle East.

We condemn the Russian attack on a hospital and an educational facility in Poltava, in which at least 41 people were killed. Our sympathy goes to the people of Ukraine. Poland will continue to support 🇺🇦 in its defence against aggression. Russia must be held accountable.

We regret that the President of the Russian Federation's visit to Mongolia has taken place while he is under an International Criminal Court arrest warrant, and Mongolia is a State Party to the ICC Statute. This visit undermines the international criminal justice system.

We condemn the Russian missile attack on civilians in Lviv - the number of victims continues to rise. We express our deep sympathy and solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Poland will continue to support 🇺🇦 in its defence against Russian aggression.

FM Radosław Sikorski 🇵🇱🇪🇺 met with the Secretary of Defence of 🇵🇭 Gilberto Teodoro Jr. Among other things, the ministers discussed cyber security and combating disinformation. Both countries expressed their willingness to establish a joint 🇵🇱🇵🇭 commission on defence cooperation.

Recent history clearly shows that a stable international environment, can bring tangible benefits. Peace works. Peace pays off. It is not some imposed Western but a general truth equally applicable in Europe, in the Middle East, or in Southeast Asia.

My great mentor, former U.S. National Security Adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski, once said that Russia faces a clear choice – it can be either an ally of the West, or a vassal of China. Vladimir Putin chose the latter. It remains to be seen if the society follows. 🧵⤵️

Putin signed a border treaty with Ukraine and has breached it. But yes, go sign another one, for sure he will respect it. How can you trust a leader who sends his troops to Crimea saying “these are not my men” and some years later he gives them medals? Credibility matters.
