What a wonderful meeting this year at #SMBE2024! Thank you so much Carina Schlebusch for proposing me co-organizing a symposium. I'm so grateful for participating in this outstanding event. Congrats to the LOC for their impressive teamwork and planning for this successful meeting.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Happy to see my first PhD project published on Nature Communications! We investigated the relation between tissue morphology and RNA expression changes on 23 tissues and developed a model to localize genes activity in space. Special thanks to a great PI Craig Glastonbury! Details here ⬇️
Had so much fun writing this small review with Nicolas Lou and Peter Sudmant about structural variation in primates in the era of T2T genomes and pangenomics :) sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Very happy to share that my first first-author paper on signatures of positive selection in Papua New Guinean populations, supervised by Andres Moreno-Estrada, is out on GBE (Genome Biology and Evolution)! academic.oup.com/gbe/article/16… 🧵📢
🌟Excited to be at #ECI2024 with my team & Blagoje Soskic's lab! Do not miss tmr posters from my lab on neonatal immunity by Altea Gjurgjaj and on long-read transcriptomics by Azahara Fuentes as well as talks from Soskic team on B cell genomics by Pietro Demela & PMarchesan!
🧬 A new study co-authored by our Davide Bolognini Alessandro Raveane & Nicole Soranzo reveals that human amylase genes, crucial for starch digestion, underwent multiple duplication and deletion events throughout evolution. 📰 Published in @nature humantechnopole.it/en/news/the-ev…
fun collaboration with the whole team (led by Peter Sudmant & Erik Garrison) nature.com/articles/s4158…
Amazing summary of our amylase paper from folks in Berkeley news.berkeley.edu/2024/09/04/agr…! Cool application for the new pangenome-based genotyping method 🔥 Peter Sudmant Erik Garrison Jason Chin Nicolas Lou Joana L. Rocha Andrea Guarracino Nicole Soranzo Alessandro Raveane
Thank you Robert Sanders for such a great digest of our paper! 😉What a privilege to have worked with such a lovely group of kind curious generous bright people: Peter Sudmant Erik Garrison Alma Nicolas Lou Alessandro Raveane Davide Bolognini Jason Chin Nicole Soranzo Andrea Guarracino!🍕🌾😊
Our paper on the evolution of structural variation at the amylase locus is out today in Nature! nature.com/articles/s4158… congrats to co-first authors Joana L. Rocha Nicolas Lou Davide Bolognini Alessandro Raveane & Alma Halgren, co-corresponding author Erik Garrison
Amazing work from my friend Alessandro Raveane. I’m very proud of you—yet another proof of what a great scientist you are! Keep going! 💪👨💻
