I am hoping the cushioning allowance for civil servants will ease the current situation for the meantime.

There are articles circulating that I have instructed medical NGOs like MSF and others that they should treat only those people with a police report. These are gross untruths. My ministry’s role is to provide social protection to the most vulnerable in our society.

I applaud and appreciate the work that MSF and other NGOs are doing in supporting government efforts by providing basic care to those affected by the current situation.

Today we said goodbye to a true patriot. Oliver Mtukudzi, your voice has given us comfort during difficult times, and will remain with us for posterity. Rest in peace comrade.
