Street closures: Victory Blvd from Laurel Canyon to 170 Freeway and Hamlin from Laurel Canyon to St Clair. Roy Romer Middle School is open and accessible via Laurel Canyon. Significant traffic delay.

Today around 4:50 am, officers responded to a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 12100 block of Victory Blvd. When officers were in the area of Victory Blvd & Bellingham, they encountered the suspect. He was armed with a firearm and pointed it at the officers.

They exited their vehicle and an OIS occurred. The suspect ran north on Bellingham and officers established a perimeter. The suspect came out of the west side of a parking structure on St Clair Ave south of Hamlin St where a 2nd OIS occurred.

The suspect ran back into the structure and came to the north side of the structure where a 3rd OIS occurred. The suspect was struck by gunfire and is deceased at the scene. Following the OIS, a male with a gunshot wound was found deceased in a vehicle in a parking lot.

The suspect’s firearm is at scene and will be collected by investigators. Valley Bureau Homicide will investigate the murder. All evidence indicates the suspect from the OIS is the homicide suspect. The area will be closed for several more hours.

#LAPD #Noho. Victory / Laurel Canyon. Listening back to the scanner from 4:50am, call for a person shot, an officer on a different call was in the area and arrived immediately and located the suspect. The suspect reportedly fired at the officers, they called for a Help Call.
