don’t really see anyone talking about this but: arrestees at CUNY were charged with *felonies* while arrestees at Columbia were charged with misdemeanors. nobody should be charged with anything but it is a travesty that poorer & racialized students bear the brunt of this struggle

I was hoping the tents might be in shape to be donated at the end of this but of course the LAPD slashed and destroyed all of them.

They are really good at it because they get plenty of practice slashing the tents of the poorest Americans living in the streets every day.

In 2002, Edward Said gave a lecture at UCLA. There's a moment near the end which I've always loved. Said gets frustrated with a heckler and says 'I don't feel like answering the question for you, you lout.' As uniformed louts swarm the campus, don't answer their questions.

NYPD forcibly removed hijabs from multiple muslim columbia students in jail, we kept chanting “let her wear her hijab” over and over from inside our cells. one of them was told to shut up by an officer when she demanded to get back her hijab. columbia unleashed these pigs on us.

AFTER LOCKING MEDICS INTO JOHN JAY, NYPD AT COLUMBIA PUSHED THREE STUDENTS DOWN THE STAIRS AND DRAGGED OUT ONE PASSED OUT STUDENT. THEY THREW ALL ITEMS DOWN THE STAIRS, ENDANGERING STUDENTS, AND PUSHED A GROUP OF FIVE THAT WERE WALKING WITHOUT RESISTING ARREST.
