A1: HS Spanish teacher from Rochester, NY. 5 hybrid classes and one 100% virtual. It’s been great to see both perspectives this year! #langchat

A2: I struggle with forcing students to turn on cameras due to equity issues with my 100 % virtual students. I ask questions randomly throughout to encourage engagement, as well as curating engaging & interactive activities. Muted when not speaking is also a norm! #langchat

A3: we had an amazing PD on Anti- racist language for the classroom via Zoom with 150 of us. It was incredible, and the presenters did a wonderful job getting us all engaged. As an extrovert I miss in person PD, but have loved the chance to keep learning & growing #langchat

A4: Flexible deadlines (we’re still in the middle of a pandemic!), tons of instructional videos with me guiding in English/Spanish to explain some things for students who need the extra push, & going slower & honing in on specific proficiency driven skills #langchat

Today we did a “mixed salad” activity from Paul Sandrock Topic: FASHION - I used statements from students such as “la ropa dice mucho de nosotros” & they had to comment by playing a card w/ the task - make a statement, agree, disagree etc in small groups ACTFL #langchat NYSAFLT
