The Choir of St John's College at the University of Cambridge perform the Ascension Day carol from the top of the Chapel Tower. The custom dates back to 1902 and a debate about whether singing from the tower could be heard from the ground below

Tomorrow at noon, we'll climb the 163-foot-high spiral staircase to sing the Ascension Day Carol from the top of the St John's College, Cambridge Chapel tower.

More than 120 years since the tradition began, Ascension Day celebrations remain a popular part of our College heritage.

Singers with strong choral experience and excellent musical skills are invited to apply for our new Choral Graduate Programme.
