We made it! Now time to prepare for the next one!

This week we toured our recent renovation of the Frederick Douglass High School auditorium. This art deco auditorium was constructed in the 1940's and I am thrilled that this beauty will once again inspire our students and ignite their creativity! NOLA Public Schools KIPP New Orleans

The Civil Rights Trail of Louisiana now extends to the iconic location where Ruby Bridges integrated New Orleans schools in 1960. May we always remember how recent this history is and how far we have to go. NOLA Public Schools

In 2011 I received the YLC Volunteer of the Year award at the annual Role Model Gala and to be named a Role Model over a decade later has me over the moon with gratitude and excitement. Congrats to the other recipients, we are going to have a great year! 💜

Thank you to the Louisiana Landmark Society for honoring the preservation work of the Recovery School District and NOLA Public Schools! Together, we received FIVE awards for recently completed historic renovations and the completion of the School Facility Master Plan! 🏆🥂

Over the last year I served on the Protect Louisiana Schools Hurricane Preparedness Commission and I'm so proud of the result! I'm glad other school districts will be able to benefit from our lessons learned and tested strategies! #itonlytakesone
