It was a privilege to speak today at the White House History wreath laying ceremony honouring James Hoban, the Irish architect who designed the White House. I was touched to see so many people turn out to remember a Kilkenny man who left an indelible mark on America.

DAR Constitution Hall was thrilled to once again be the host venue for the Library of Congress #GershwinPrize! 2024 honorees were Elton John & Bernie Taupin and the event included so many beautiful performances!

The DAR Museum opened their new “Sewn in America” Exhibition today! This groundbreaking exhibit combines sewn items from all textile sections of the DAR Museum’s collection, including garments, quilts, and embroideries. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it!

April is #NationalVolunteerMonth but for DAR, it feels like every month is volunteer month. Today, we wanted to thank our members for volunteering in their community and providing meaningful outreach in the promotion of historic preservation, education, and patriotism.

Congratulations to Crosby High School senior, Landon Darjean. He is the first-ever recipient of the Good Citizen Award from the Old 300 (Crosby) Chapter of the DAR. This award recognizes a student who demonstrates dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. #MovingForward

Today marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Today, we remember the heroes of the Allied forces in the largest amphibious invasion in military history. These men did not go unforgotten as they gave their lives so that we may know liberty, justice, and freedom for all.

Happy Juneteenth! In commemoration of this holiday, DAR buildings and offices will be closed today. Juneteenth celebrates the day in 1865 that Union soldiers landed at Galveston, Texas with news of the end of the war and the ending of slavery.

On Saturday, June 22, #Loudoun honored the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution and the visit of the Marquis de Lafayette to Leesburg in August 1825 with the unveiling of a historic marker on the courthouse grounds. Town of Leesburg, VA Consulate General of France in Washington 🇫🇷🇪🇺
