Nothing improves our understanding of water like a “stress test" - and it's starting to look like the San Joaquin Valley will get one this spring when the snowpack melts. Senior fellow Jeff Mount looks at what this could mean for the valley and #CAwater. ppic.org/blog/an-epic-s…

Great talk by Tirusew Asefa, Ph.D., P.E., BC.WRE., F.ASCE presenting our work on risk-based characterization of water supply project timing at #EWRI2023. You can find more details on this work in our recent publication by David Gorelick, Center on Financial Risk in Environmental Systems and Water Programming, here: ascelibrary.org/doi/abs/10.106…

That’s a wrap folks — saying goodbye to our 2023 CoFiRES grads. Zach defended his thesis on #WesternWater in the CO River Basin in June and Christina defended her thesis on the impact of demand management/interest rates/water prices for Tampa Bay Water today! Congrats y’all 🥳💧

Collab #3: a product of AGU (American Geophysical Union)'s #chapmanwater. I learned more than I can express by working with this truly interdisciplinary group. Thanks to Elizabeth Macpherson leading, Aurora Kagawa-Viviani, PhD for being another guiding light, and other coauthors, including Will Brewer & kaustuv Raj Neupane

my final side quest is complete, now all I have left to do is my actual dissertation work 😉lots of lessons learned from this project, which was borne out of my MS thesis. Clearly Center on Financial Risk in Environmental Systems has given me opportunities and collaborators to study far more than hydropower!
