Being aware of the problem is step in the right direction, but still won't prevent bottle flippers cashing in...Surely if any numbered bottle appears immediately on an auction site it wouldn't be too difficult to trace the buyer and restrict any future purchases, within reason?

Not sure how I feel about these new bottles, believe they are only for the American market at the moment. My main issue is that I feel the grey / silver label for the John's Lane isn't strong enough to stand out on a shelf and isn't reflective of how premium the whiskey is.

"Lucozade Ribena Suntory Ireland" just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? Whoever came up with that needs a promotion for originality 😂

Fantastic colour photo from 1937 of Locke's Distillery in Kilbeggan, the oldest standing distillery in Ireland, not too different to the building that is still there today as part of Kilbeggan's visitor centre, definitely worth a visit to take a step back in time

#HinchDistillery 5yo Double Wood - Palate - Nice sweetness runs through this whiskey combining with the grain and citrus to give a serious dessert feel to this

#HinchDistillery 5yo Double Wood - Finish - Slightly short but warming and finally a touch of the orchard fruits I've been reading about. A very accessible dram and a bit of a fruit bomb...great start to the tasting

"Fèis-at-home" is Bunnahabhain's way of bringing Fèis Ìle 2020 to your doorstep with their "Wee Drams" pack of their two festival bottlings. The whiskies involved are a Moine Amontillado finished 2010 vintage bottled at 56.9% and a Madeira finished 2002 vintage bottled at 53% 🥃

Going for a few "old skool" miniatures tonight with the first being this Bushmills 10yo from the 1980s Bottled at 40%, the fill level had dropped a touch on this one but the nose is still vibrant with Bushmills orchard fruits and distinct sherry wood

Passing through Belfast city & spotted these awesome benches, sporting the iconic Powers Whiskey diamond P, at the recently refurbished Fountain Lane Belfast Looking forward to checking out the refurb fully to see if their whiskey selection is as awesome as these benches would suggest

Huge thanks to Whiskey JAC for this quality Irish Whiskey from #HinchDistillery. This wee beauty has been finished in some ex-stout casks that previously held Whitewater Brewery Kreme de la Kremlin imperial stout imparting serious coffee goodness throughout this dram.

Decent drop of Jameson I had whilst calling into Bittles Bar a few weeks ago. The finish in the Belgian Tripel barrels brings a rich malty banana note to this classic dram. Worth a try if you spot it.
