Shar and I arrived in Israel yesterday! Each day during this trip, we will share our Moment of the Day (MOTD). 📸 Hopefully we can agree on just one moment and say it succinctly. 😂 #MOTD #Israel #HolyLand

Day 1: Our MOTD was standing in the remains of what was once a hub of activity in Caesarea. This port city is where Cornelius and his household began following Jesus, making them the first Gentile believers! Thankful the gospel was sent out from Caesarea and made known to us!

Day 2: Our MOTD was visiting the area overlooking the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus taught the greatest sermon in history. What a peaceful, beautiful place! 📖 Matthew 5, 6, 7 Also, a moment deserving of honorable mention was Shar swimming in the Sea of Galilee. 😎

Day 3: Our MOTD was ascending the hill to Jerusalem. Jewish tribes likely sang the Ascent Psalms (120-134) as they navigated this distance and gradient to festivals. Also, a moment deserving of honorable mention was seeing two knock-off Starbucks shops on the same street. ☕️

Day 4: Our MOTD was walking through the Shrine of the Book within The Israel Museum. So much history is captured here about the Dead Sea Scrolls discovered at Qumran. Also, we were not expecting the massive model built here of the Old City of Jerusalem. Incredible!

Day 5: Our MOTD was standing on a massive plateau known as Masada, overlooking the Dead Sea. The story of what occurred here between the Jews and Romans is woven into the fabric of Israeli culture. It is a one-of-a-kind historical site that most people have never heard about!

Day 6: Our MOTD was a sweet time of worship with our group in the Garden of Gethsemane! The words Jesus spoke from the Golden Gate to this garden (John 13-17) are life-changing! It was such a fresh reminder of the magnitude of what took place between the gate and the garden!

Day 7: Our MOTD was standing inside the empty Garden Tomb. This symbol, painted on the tomb's wall, encompasses an incredible message: Jesus Christ. Jesus the Messiah. Alpha & Omega. Leaving #Israel inspired! Also, it was great to spend time with so many from Hope Church!
