“Celebrity academics” - Why is this a thing?!? I get the part about educating the public about academia and esp. about science. But the glitz and glamour and tabloids bit? Not so much. It’s gross. Do not condone.

Yesterday #maingroup chemistry was on full display at the Bruker-Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ⁩symposium! Excellent talks by ⁦Alex Spokoyny⁩, ⁦Baumgartner Lab⁩, Jane, and ⁦Saurabh Chitnis⁩! It was also great to see students and faculty from nearly all of the Boston area schools.

Do we still teach students about ethics in research/science?? Seems like something that should be a requirement in every science program…If you haven’t previously seen/read “On Being a Scientist” (The National Academies Press, doi.org/10.17226/12192 ) it’s a great resource.
