Recently used a new technique for me: Percutaneous 18g direct stick sharp recan of a very short occlusion of a R-CFV/EIV stent.

More traditional methods failed, up to back of wire sharp recan, so I tried something new....

Patient with #Optease filter placed at an #OSH 6 years ago presents with PTS including venous ulcers (Villalta 28) after 3 prior failed retrieval attempts.

After #filterout and reconstruction, patient now with significantly improved PTS (Villalta 10) and healed venous ulcers.

ESRD with debilitating SVC syndrome/occlusion 2/2 HD cath placement years ago. SVC sharp recan performed UAB IR.

Benign angiomyolipoma (AML) on the right kidney, but these can rupture and cause life-threatening bleeding. The mass was embolized by interventional radiology ( #IRad ), which reduces the risk of bleeding.

Yesterday we reviewed pathophysiology of knee #osteoarthritis , a hugely prevalent and QOL limiting dz. Safety/early efficacy data are promising for procedural #genicular therapies. Excited about the future of image guided therapies for #kneepainrelief #kneepaintreatment

I love working with my colleagues UAB Medicine to come up with solutions for patients, like in this case. Interventional radiology ( #IRad ) placed a percutaneous drain into an Indiana pouch to facilitate percutaneous nephrolithotomy. The text message follow up is the best part!

Small area of metastatic #coloncancer in the liver that was new & associated with increases in tumor markers. Due to the central location, the area was treated by irreversible electroporation (IRE) by interventional radiology ( #IRad ) with a nice response on follow up.

I share because while benign, #BPH negatively effects QOL. #prostate artery #embolization #PAE is the right choice for many men. The focus should be on offering a collaborative and supportive approach so that we can help our patients as in this case UAB IR UAB Urology

Kidney #cancer located superiorly treated by interventional radiology ( #IRad ) with a transhepatic approach. The follow up CT shows no evidence of residual disease.
