Yesterday, the members of the Durham City Workers of UE Local 150 showed up along with community allies to speak out at the city’s final budget hearing.

The members demand a minimum wage of $25/hour. The current does not keep up with the rising cost of housing & food.

The U.S. needs to emulate Canada’s new anti-scab” legislation, which prohibits federally-regulated corporations from trying to break strikes by employing the tactic of bringing in replacement workers. Corporations that violate the law can be fined $100,000 a day.
