The world is very opposed to the idea of directly supporting the extreme poor in the global south. It is the biggest barrier to ending global poverty today. What if humanity gave me some $45m as a gamble, to see if putting the poor at the helm might work?bottomupexp.org

Basically, the UCF worked with a couple of farmers (on white sorghum) in the just-concluded first planting season of 2022, but Kaise Hassan's field was perhaps the most inspiring, and he was growing it for the first time. Help us scale this work: ugandafarm.org/scaling-white-…

It surely amazes me how humanity believes that the best way to end global poverty, is by a) cutting off any direct connection with the people who live in ultra poverty, b) making it as hard as possible for these people to ever see a single penny of global antipoverty funding, and

Everyone from Bobi Wine to Museveni agrees that my region Busoga is Uganda's most impoverished, yet Uganda itself is among the poorest in SSAfrica. This is why I believe, for global poverty to end, humanity must put the ultra poor directly at the helm. ntv.co.ug/ug/news/kyagul…

My region Busoga "has the poorest people in Uganda", yet Uganda itself is among the poorest in SSAfrica. This is why I find it very painful to understand that humanity, really, is against the idea of directly supporting the ultra poor in the global south. watchdoguganda.com/news/20210604/…

On his Oct 29, 2022 visit to my region of Busoga — Uganda's most impoverished region — Uganda's president Museveni was appalled by the poverty he saw here, asking "How do you people live through this?" mulengeranews.com/overwhelmed-by…

Dear humanity, I know you are a rather difficult species — a species that even doubts if people like me are a part of your family. But because I don't have any other species to deal with, when it comes to finding a path from ultra poverty, I must still turn to you.

EA, a movement that aims to do the most good especially in the lives of the world's poor, NEVER ever funds the world's ultra poor directly. But they believe spending $$$ to fight a probable FUTURE apocalypse is one of the best ways of doing the most good? wired.com/story/effectiv…

Since every international media outlet is now talking about SBF and effective altruism (EA), Let me take this moment to say that, as someone who lives in a truly impoverished part of the world, I have long felt that EA excludes WE the ultra poor even more dear-humanity.org/effective-altr…

When you heed the writings of people like Jason Hickel and others, you realize that global development as an industry has an even darker side. This post may help answer those who often say "billions in aid have been sent [to places like Africa], yet..." dear-humanity.org/the-darkest-si…

In the early days of covid, many people across the globe were saying that this pandemic should be a lesson for the world not to "go back to normal". If that's true, I personally believe global poverty, too, and the way we end it, should be no exception. dear-humanity.org/covid-final-re…

Anthony Kalulu (@kaluluanthony) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Above all, this is ALL very personal to me. I have spent my whole life in ultra poverty. My region Busoga, is also Uganda's most impoverished, and Busoga is the talk allover Uganda, when it comes to poverty. I am asking humanity to help me change this: dear-humanity.org

I have no way to explain the kind of hunger that most households in my two neighboring districts of Kamuli & Buyende, in Busoga (eastern Uganda), have gone through in the last 3 years since 2020 -- yet many have no income whatsoever. 2021 and 2022 have especially been the worst.

is by making my project, the UCF, "your second home, or your getaway home in Uganda, where you can come & stay with us whenever you are free". I believe this is a good way for people like you who are contented with the humanly way (i.e. the top-bottom approach) of ending
