Today, I'm thinking of friends I made during my 3-years in Ukraine as Defence Attaché to Kyiv. Since Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine, Putin has failed in his mission not only to seize Ukraine but to stifle the spirit of the courageous & proudly independent Ukrainian people.

Our single greatest asset is our people. It was a pleasure to present Lt Cdr Chris Barber – who will soon be returning to England for a new posting - with medals reflecting 15 exceptional years with the UK’s Armed Forces & service to the @royalnavy during the King’s Coronation.
