Today’s #MondayBlues spotlights Norman Wilson (1902-85), an innovator of production and design at Wedgwood from 1927 to his retirement in 1963. This bowl features a mottled matte tan glaze to the exterior and a vibrant white and blue glaze known as 'thawed snow' inside.

Since you all enjoyed last week’s #TeapotTuesday post, we’ve had another dig in our archive for teapot patterns and shapes. Our favourite is this ‘Snake’ earthenware teapot with an ivory glaze and orange finish. Also note the peculiar addition of an acorn finial on the lid!

It may be the height of summer, but the #mondayblues are always present. Let’s fix that with this Wedgwood tobacco jar and presser, made at Etruria in 1887. It is composed of a ‘Lavender’ coloured body, introduced by Wedgwood in 1858, and decorated with inlaid bands.

Unpacked for #FridayFinds this week is Wedgwood's 'husk' pattern. In 1768, keen to expand into the Russian market, Wedgwood sent samples to Empress Catherine II of Russia. His plan was successful, leading to a commission for a the 'Husk' dinner service for the Empress.

For #TeapotTuesday, here’s a 'Black Anthemium' earthenware teapot from the 1930s. It has a milky green ‘celadon’ body with an ornamental transfer-printed design known as ‘anthemium’. There is a print on the base of the teapot which notes it as a trial.

This week’s #TeapotTuesday takes a strange turn with this design for an 19th century earthenware teapot with two handles and two spouts. We’re struggling to see why you’d want a two spout teapot, but let us know if you disagree!

This week's #FridayFinds spotlights a series of 20th-century jugs we've recently unpacked. These are all 'Etruscan' shape jugs and exemplify the mass production of wares at the end of the century, while also showcasing the bold use of dramatic colours in traditional designs.

It's a quirky #TeapotTuesday this week, featuring this blue jasperware teapot moulded in the shape of a cabbage from around 1784. This unusual shape utilises playful fruit and vegetable forms, possibly influenced by rococo-style wares from the mid-18th century.

Since 1759, Wedgwood has manufactured wares that are renowned for precision and exactness. These attributes are best highlighted by the 'Imperial Queen's Ware' range produced by the company between 1865 - 1885. Each piece was delicately pierced and ornamented.
