Catching up on some 90's American historiography for a class I'm teaching this semester and it seems to be TOTALLY dominated by political history. Anyone have suggestions for some books that approach the era from a different perspective?

listening to some of the dead & co shows from last year's run via official soundboard mixes—being able to really hear Bob makes such a big difference! He's playing SO well through a lot of this. The mixture of rhythm and melody is just great + the guitar interplay totally works

reading about American Automakers problems with electric cars and...I feel like there's this weird marketing disjunct. Ford makes an electric pick-up, van, and SUV. I might be wrong but...the folks I know most eager to adopt an electric feel like they want sedans?
