This week was the NWS new employee seminar in Kansas City. I loved the networking opportunities and the chance to hear from Ken Graham about the future of the agency. I feel positive about my future career with the NWS.

In addition to snow, wind, and below-zero temperatures, flooding has also been a concern this holiday weekend. Police in Queens and Long Islands rescued several people trapped in their cars earlier today due to the high waters. #Elliott

A trail of destruction has been left across the south and east side of Houston from a likely EF-2 tornado after Harris county was put under its first ever Tornado Emergency since the NWS started issuing them in the 90s. Thankfully my family is okay! youtu.be/Vnzgx9KE7OQ

Louisiana used to be my home for a little while. I hate to see all of this damage. My thoughts are with those who were affected.

I lived in Chico for 2 years, I never saw it hail. Usually only a few occurrences in the Northern Sacramento Valley per year. So, when you see this much, you know you're witnessing a rare event!
