My thoughts today are with the 72 people who lost their lives in the Grenfell fire, and with the survivors and bereaved families who have fought so long. This is their day. They have waited too long to get the truth, and are still waiting for real justice and meaningful action.

Fantastic to see we've reduced almost 40% of emissions in B&NES in recent years. Around 1/3 of our emissions are caused by the electricity & gas we use at home - that's why energy-efficiency measures are vital 🏠 The progress B&NES Council has made in these key areas is brilliant 👏

We Liberal Democrats welcome the steps in the government's Bill to ban bonuses and introduce sentences for greedy water bosses. But these measures don't go far enough. We need to overhaul this disgraced industry and bring in a tough new regulator to end the sewage scandal for good.
