Just the other day I was laughing at this thread posted by Arman about an injured hedgehog he discovered in Bakhmut. True to character, amidst the carnage he helped nurse it back to health. A small example of the person he was, showing kindness in the middle of a war zone

Dans la voiture, pour notre premier départ sur le front en avril 2022, tu avais chanté à tue-tête par-dessus la radio militaire "Forever Young. I wanna be forever young". Tu avais 32 ans.

EN: An AFP journalist, one of our compatriots Arman Soldin, has been killed in Ukraine. With courage, from the first hours of the conflict he went to the front line to establish the facts. To inform us. We share the pain of those close to him and of all his colleagues.

Today, The Times used a handout picture by the government on the front page. Imagine reading an article in the same paper in which the author is: 'N10 Downing St. Handout'. Exactly.

This is the kind of censorship UK photojournalists face everyday: - No.10 invite us to cover a visit. - We are asked to leave during the best moment. - Gov photographer stays and gets the best shot. - British papers used the unverified government-issued image. - Repeat

Wishing our lovely Good Morning Britain colleague Lorna Shaddick the best of luck with a very special upcoming assignment. Today was her last scheduled live report, before taking a break from broadcasting to produce her most exciting story yet.
