Today Tracey Naledi led the launch of our newest Department of Family Community and Emergency Care. Combining Interdisicplinary Palliative Medicine and Care, Sports and Exercise Medicine, Emergency Med and Family Med, this Department is a chance for social accountability
Aidan Baron I get this. 🙃 from an LMIC perspective, I am secretly delighted when an expensive treatment overseas fails to be the be all and end all. As I know it will be a pipe dream for poorer healthcare systems if it is effective. Eg: reboa. Also artesunate in trauma patients, like nooooo
It is really awkward to return manuscripts on African emergency care due to non-inclusion of local authors. Afr J Emerg Med requires at least 25% inclusion.
It is not appropriate to publish research without including local stakeholders as authors.
