#RecordOfTheWeek today is Gorse Midget (Phyllonorycter ulicicolella), found at Lamby Lake by George Tordoff, the first record in VC35. The larvae of this Nationally Scarce B moth mines the shoots of Gorse. Many thanks for the record & photo, submitted via sewbrecord.org.uk

Moschatel, Adoxa moschatellina. 15cm. Hairless. Long-stalked, cube-shaped flower heads with 1 flower facing each side & 1 upward-facing. Long-stalked, pale green lvs, 3-lobed leaflets & sharp apical point. Petiole channelled.

Spring is here the bees are out and about on sunny days. This queen Redtail Bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius) was forging in the gorse on the coast path. 🐝
