The health authorities in Gaza say that at least 79 Palestinians were killed by Israeli attacks on the strip in the past 24 hours.

Hamas says its holding 30 Israeli military officers captive. It also stated that Yahya Sinwar, its chief in Gaza, is not isolating himself in tunnels as rumored, but rather actively on the field. Sinwar even visited fighters on and above the ground and in fighting zones.

Israeli airstrikes in Rafah and Nuseirat RC resulted in the killing of 8 Palestinians. Overnight, intense airstrikes continued in central and northern Gaza. Whilst in Khan Younis, efforts to search for and retrieve bodies from the mass graves near Nasser Hospital continued.
