A month of hard work easily fits in one little box: my gDNA samples from a nuclear size regulator screen. Thanks Daniel Schraivogel and Lars Steinmetz lab for warmly hosting me at EMBL and teaching me the fancy image-activated cell sorting, and Life Science Alliance for the exchange grant!

Great to see this paper out. It shows how partial RB phosphorylation on a specific residue primes but does not commit cells for G1/S transition. Congratulations, Yumi Konagaya/ๅฐ้•ท่ฐท ๆœ‰็พŽ and MeyerTeruelLabs! ๐ŸŽ‰

Not only the fees are prohibitively high, the way they treat you is really frustrating. They say the processing is 3 weeks, but even after 3 months the only info I got was: "Your application is currently under consideration, and the decision will be made as soon as possible". ๐Ÿ˜

โฐ 7 days left to apply for postdoc in Evgeny Zatulovskiy lab at Cambridge University to lead an exciting project on interconnections between cell size, cell cycle, and cell fate decisions in ES cells. Candidates experienced in quantitative microscopy/stem cell bio are encouraged to apply!

Congratulations, Mike and the team! This work nicely shows that whatever aspects of cell biology we are studying, we should consider the confounding effects of cell size.

Just in time for #scdb24, our latest collaborative paper on how stem cells make the critical decision to divide or differentiate. Live imaging and models point to cell size. But, surprise! Two stem cell types make opposite choices. biorxiv.org/cgi/content/shโ€ฆ
