if you think that a fandom is ruined because of one or two ppl, you kinda ruined it yourself by not just blocking/muting those ppl

some fans really don’t understand how much control they have over their own fandom experiences and how little they have for others’

the way some of you just disrespect and humiliate fanartists over a piece of art you didn’t enjoy makes me wonder if you see fanart as real art, you wouldn’t go to an art gallery and say ”ew this is wrong” because you have respect for the artists, unlike you do for fanartists

i think some ppl might see art as purely an aesthetic thing, they don’t realize that one of the key elements of art is evoking emotion, ”erm this art made me uncomfortable” it’s depicting a bad thing, it should make you uncomfortable, it doesn’t make the art bad, it makes it good
