Today the House voted to extend workers comp coverage to first responders w/post-tramatic stress injuries (HB 1632 by Rep. Jennifer O'Mara).

Our first responders need to know that no matter what call they answer, or what building they go into, they will have help available to them.

I was proud to support HB 1632 & vote YES on this important legislation spearheaded by Rep. Jennifer O'Mara today.

We need to do everything we can to provide physical & mental health supports for our first responders!

I hope the state senate quickly takes up this bill & passes it soon.

Honored to speak at a press conference organized by the PA Chapter, American Acad Peds on the importance of passing paid family leave through RepDanMiller Family Care Act, HB 181. As a physician-legislator, I know that paid family leave is vital to the health of our community.

It was a solemn occasion in Harrisburg yesterday where members of all branches of state government joined together to remember the police officers who gave their lives in the line of duty and recognize the families and loved ones they left behind.

I voted yes on HB1608, which requires PA’s Medical Assistance program to provide coverage for doula services, and creates the Doula Advisory Board.

As we observe Yom HaShoah, we remember that the Holocaust did not start with violence – it ended with violence; it started with scapegoating Jews for the world’s ills, promoting tropes, and the casual use of dehumanizing language.
