Abdi Dirshe Abdirashid Nur East African Community The potential benefits of #Somalia 's membership of East African Community can't be dismissed. Yet, serious challenges warrant a cautious approach that need to be addressed before joining the #EAC , namely: political stability, security, economic development, social peace, and capacity building.

Recent experience in the counter Al-Shabab operations indicate tactical maneuver of exploiting Al-Shabab’s weakness combined with an element of surprise attack and disruption will continue to weaken its will to fight. Many of its rank and file continue to defect.

This says a lot about the determination of the Somali people. A mother shouldering an AK47 to end Al-Shabab’s destruction. I thank this mother and others who joined this fight.
