COVID-19 has intensified existing vulnerabilities of the poor, homeless, and landless; and has made land and resource rights vulnerable to abuse by opportunistic businesses and government projects.
Indigenous communities have their own resilience mechanisms to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, but these are more difficult to practices given ecological and social changes given the effects of climate change and commercialization of natural resources.
