Day 16 of World Autism Month. Our Same Chance Report found 60% had a co-occurring difference, diagnosis or disability aside from Autism.

Day 15 or World Autism Month. Our Same Chance Report found that 38% of Autistic people felt lonely either all of the time or some of the time.

Day 14 of WAM. Our Same Chance Report found that 90% do not believe that the Irish public understands enough about Autism. One community member said “We are actually pretty normal if you take time to get to know us. Lack of understanding and stigma are the main barriers.”

Day 12 of World Autism Month. Our Same Chance Survey found that 86% of respondents said Autism is a barrier to being accepted by and forming friendships with others.

Everyone deserves to be loved for who they are.

Day 8 of WAM. Our recent report found that 79% of respondents felt their experience of the cost-of-living crisis was more challenging due to the realities of being Autistic. This is just one reason why we are advocating for better supports, we deserve the Same Chance

Day 5 of #WAM . 71% surveyed said they don’t believe the healthcare system is inclusive for Autistic people. One said “The Doctor did not believe my child was autistic saying they’re too pretty and just does not want to speak to me - they would grow out of it and speak later...'

38% of Autistic people surveyed in our Same Chance Report said they did not feel safe or protected in their community. Everyone deserves to feel safe, everyone deserves to feel protected regardless of a diagnosis.

This day 10 years ago we launched AsIAm - it’s been quite the journey so far but we aren’t looking back but forward. In the decade ahead we - must do so much more to fight the invisible barriers our community faces so that every Autistic person has the #SameChance .

That's completely false.

The study was actually about which cities had the *best* homeless services.

We’ve been assured constantly from Department of Education that non-disabled people are happy with the new model. We only wish the same weight was placed on the voices of the end user - Autistic children and children who need to access SET supports
