Thanks to the kindness of the Infantry College in Oudtshoorn, the Polish WWII Refugees were able to return once again to the camp where, 80 years ago, they found the safe haven, look at the buildings where they lived, take a walk along the alleys, go back to the past for a moment

An important part of the program commemorating the 80th anniversary of the arrival of Polish refugees in Oudtshoorn was the unveiling of a monument in honor of 500 Polish children and their caregivers, which is located on the premises of @cpnelmuseum Tatiana Solomon 📸W.Jakutowicz

Ambassador Adam Burakowski presented the Polish flag to the Mayor of Oudtshoorn, Chris McPherson. The 🇵🇱Polish flag will be permanently displayed in front of the #cpnelmuseum , where the monument to honour Polish refugees, victims of the Soviet deportations, was erected Oudtshoorn Municipality

.Adam Burakowski took part in the ceremonies commemorating the 80th anniversary of the arrival of 500 Polish children and their caregivers in Oudtshoorn. Service in the St Saviour's Cathedral was celebrated by Bishop Noel Rucastle and priests Steven Scheepers and Quiwin Thomas.
