One of my true pleasures is taking friends who are visiting the area to the bookstore after-hours.

My plan for Winter Institute in Cincinnati is simply to be sort of around, showing up or not here and there, with very minimal program engagement. And … to attend something completely unrelated. (Cincinnati’s Music Hall is world class, btw.)

This week is our sixth anniversary as EBB / my sixth anniversary of somehow tweaking my self-sabotaging tendencies into (apparently) sustainable business prescribes.

As much as I appreciate Dan Sinykin’s thesis in BIG FICTION concerning the conglomerate’s effect on authorship, such that the singularity/authority of the latter has been culturally overvalued, I think it makes me appreciate the singularity/authority of Joy Williams all the more.
